Sougy-sur-Loire is located about 22 kilometers southeast of Nevers on the Loire , which borders the municipality in the south. Sougy-sur-Loire is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Trois-Vèvres in the north, La Machine in the north-east, Saint-Léger-des-Vignes in the east, Decize in the south-east, Avril-sur-Loire in the south and Druy-Parigny in the west and north-west .
