Chevenon is a municipality with 590 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in central France in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . Chevenon belongs to the Arrondissement of Nevers and the canton of Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier (until 2015: Canton Imphy ).
geography
Chevenon is about nine kilometers south-southeast of Nevers on the Loire . Chevenon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sermoise-sur-Loire in the north and north-west, Saint-Éloi in the north, Sauvigny-les-Bois in the north-east, Imphy in the east, Luthenay-Uxeloup in the south-east, and Saint-Parize-le-Châtel in the south Southwest and Magny-Cours in the west and southwest.

In 1834 the previously independent municipality of Jaugeney was incorporated into Chevenon.
