Azy-le-Vif is located about 23 kilometers south-southeast of Nevers between Loire and Allier . Azy-le-Vif is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Parize-le-Châtel in the north, Luthenay-Uxeloup in the northeast, Neuville-lès-Decize in the east, Toury-sur-Jour in the south, and Chantenay-Saint-Imbert in the south Southwest and Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier in the west.
