geography
The municipality is located in the Loire Valley , about eight kilometers west of Decize . The neighboring municipalities of Avril-sur-Loire are:
- Sougy-sur-Loire in the north,
- Decize in the east,
- Saint-Germain-Chassenay in the south,
- Neuville-lès-Decize in the southwest and
- Fleury-sur-Loire to the west.
The place is on the left bank of the Loire, between the river and the Canal latéral à la Loire (German: Loire Lateral Canal ), which runs parallel to the river here for around a kilometer to the south. While the western municipal area is heavily forested due to its portion of the Bois de Neuville , the rivers Acolin , Abron and Dornette dominate the eastern part , all of which are heading towards the Loire.

- Romanesque chapel of the 12th century in the former Coming of the Knights Templar Loges-Feuilloux , on the border with the neighboring municipality of Neuville-lès-Decize
Shipping
Although the Loire Lateral Canal is of no importance for cargo shipping today, tourism on the water with pleasure boats and houseboats is on the rise and allows the communities on the banks to generate additional income. A mooring for boats (French: Halte nautique ) was therefore built on the canal near the town center.
