Saint-Parize-le-Châtel is about twelve kilometers south of Nevers between the Loire and Allier rivers . Saint-Parize-le-Châtel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Magny-Cours in the north, Chevenon in the north-east, Luthenay-Uxeloup in the east, Azy-le-Vif in the south and south-east, Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier in the south and south-west, Langeron in the southwest and Mars-sur-Allier in the west.

The Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours is located in the north of the municipality . The National Route 7 runs through the municipality .
