The Lankower Seeufer, Grammsee and the surrounding area is a nature reserve in the Schleswig-Holstein communities of Ziethen and Mustin in the Duchy of Lauenburg .

General

The almost 195  hectare nature reserve is registered under number 160 in the directory of nature reserves of the Ministry for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas. It was expelled in 1994 (date of regulation: November 8, 1994). The nature reserve is part of the FFH area "Forests and lakeside east of the Ratzeburg lake" and the EU bird sanctuary "Schaalsee area". To the north it borders directly on the “ Lankower See ” nature reserve in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The nature reserve " Salemer Moor with adjacent forests and lakes " connects to the south . The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Duchy of Lauenburg district. The nature reserve has an important connection function between the Ratzeburger See - Schaalsee chain of lakes and the Garrensee rinne with the Salem Moor.

The nature reserve is looked after by the "Schaalsee-Landschaft" association and the local forestry department of the Duchy of Lauenburg. It borders on agricultural land to the west and east . In the south it borders on federal highway 208 , which also separates it from the nature reserve "Salemer Moor with adjacent forests and lakes". A hiking trail runs along the southwestern edge of the nature reserve .

description

The nature reserve is located east of Ratzeburg in the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park . It is part of the Green Belt along the former inner-German border and protects the area on the south bank of the Lankower See , the almost 16 hectare Grammsee and the areas between and south of the two lakes, which are predominantly characterized by deciduous forest stands . To the west is a grassland area that is grazed extensively with cattle. In the south lies the Baalen Moor, a small boiler moor in the nature reserve. The forest areas that were previously used intensively for forestry have been converted into semi-natural deciduous forests as a result of the area being protected. They should be left to their own devices and naturally develop. The Grammsee, which was used for fishing until the end of 1995, is also no longer managed. It is surrounded by an alder forest, which is joined by gray willows and peat birches. In places there are narrow belts of sedges and reeds with swamp sedge and reeds . The water lily and yellow pond rose settle in quiet bays . The Grammsee is a habitat and a. of pike , moderlieschen , wolffish and burbot . There are also tench , rudd , roach and perch . The surrounding lake reed bed areas and forests are the habitat of the bittern , marsh harrier , reed warbler , reed bunting , little grebe , Golden Oriole , Warbler and Nightingale .

Three small bodies of water were created in the nature reserve, which serve as a spawning habitat for the fire-bellied toad . The nature reserve also serves to network the habitats of the fire-bellied toad, which u. a. also occurs in the nature reserve "Salemer Moor with adjacent forests and lakes" to the south.
