League Cup 1983/84

The League Cup 1983/84 was the 24th edition of the English League Cup , which had existed since 1960 .

The competition started on August 29, 1983 with the first round and ended on March 28, 1984 with the final at Wembley . The title went to the defending champions Liverpool FC , who defeated Everton FC 0-0 aet and 1-0 in the final. Liverpool won the English League Cup for the fourth time in a row after 1981 , 1982 and 1983 . Everton FC secured the FA Cup 1983/84 title a month and a half after losing the final in the League Cup (2-0 against Watford FC). In addition to the league cup, Liverpool FC won the First Division championship in 1983/84 and the title in the European Cup in 1983/84 .
