The 100-meter run for women at the European Athletics Championships 2002 was held on August 6th and 7th, 2002 in Munich's Olympic Stadium.

The European champion was the Greek Olympic runner-up in 2000 , World Cup third in 1999 , World Cup second in 2001 and European championship third in 1998 Ekaterini Thanou . Second place went to the Belgian Kim Gevaert , who two days later also won silver in the 200 meters . Bronze went to the Italian Manuela Levorato . She also repeated this placement in the 200-meter race two days later.
