While martial arts focus on defeating the opponent as quickly as possible by all means, martial arts are primarily designed for use in a regulated environment. The use of certain techniques is usually not allowed (for example elbow techniques, punches or lever techniques).

Martial arts styles with no cultural reference

After 1950 in particular, numerous mixed forms of martial arts styles came into being, which combine elements of different classical styles. These styles cannot be classified culturally, even if some of the names suggest it.
