The list of cities in Argentina provides an overview of the development of the population of the larger cities of the South American state Argentina .
Agglomerations
By far the largest agglomeration in Argentina is Buenos Aires with a population of 14,879,100. The population refers to the Area Metropolitana, including the city proper and the nearby suburbs of Gran Buenos Aires . This means that a third of the country's people are concentrated in the capital region. The following table lists all agglomerations with over 100,000 inhabitants.

Cities without a suburban belt
The table contains all cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, the results of the population censuses (VZ) of October 22, 1980, May 15, 1991, November 18, 2001 and October 27, 2010. The higher-level administrative unit ( province ) is also listed , to which the city belongs. Buenos Aires forms its own federal district and does not belong to any province. The population figures refer to the respective municipality within its political limits, without politically independent suburbs. Cities belonging to agglomerations of other cities have the following abbreviations:
- GBA - Gran Buenos Aires
- GBA * - Buenos Aires metropolitan area , but not included in the official Gran Buenos Aires
- GM - Gran Mendoza
- GSJ - Gran San Juan
- SDE - Gran Santiago del Estero
