List of mines in the Hunsrück
Mining in the Hunsrück already existed in Roman times (200 BC) and mainly dealt with lead, zinc and copper ores. Coal mining was not profitable. The following deposits in particular were economically attractive:
- Werlau -Wellmicher- gangway between Alterkülz and Wellmich
- Shallow corridor train between Zell and Sevenich
- Altlayer gangway between Peterswald and Minheim
Nowadays there is no active ore mining, the list only includes disused mines and operating points.
