MTV Video Music Awards / MTV2 Award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The MTV2 Award was an award that was presented from 2001 to 2006 as part of the MTV Video Music Awards . The award went to videos that premiered on MTV's sister channel MTV2 . The first winner was the nu-metal band Mudvayne , who received the award in white suits with fake blood .

Similar to the Viewer's Choice Award, it was based on a fan vote. From 2001 to 2005 it was one of the main awards, which was also given in the main show. In 2006 the award was only given in simulcast on MTV2, while there was a commercial break in the normal program. The award was discontinued a year later.
