The MTV Video Music Award for Best Pop Video is an award given as part of the MTV Video Music Awards , which was first given in 1999 . At the MTV Video Music Awards 2007 the category was suspended because they wanted to create a new concept for the award ceremony, but it failed. Therefore, the award was given again in 2008.

Britney Spears tops both the winners list with three awards won and the nominations list with seven nominations. Along with NSYNC, she is the only artist to have won the award for two consecutive years.
