MTV Video Music Awards / Best Art Direction
The MTV Video Music Award for Best Art Direction is one of the technical categories of the MTV Video Music Awards . It is one of the few awards that have been given continuously since 1984. It was only suspended once in 2007. From 1984 to 2006 it was called Best Art Direction in a Video .
As with all technical categories, the artist, the manager of the artist and the actual performer, in this case the art director of the video, are recognized.
The record is held by KK Barrett and Jan Houllevique, who each received the award twice. The most frequently nominated, four times each, were Tom Foden, Charles Infante and Laura Fox.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers won the award three times each . The most frequently nominated was Madonna , namely six times.
