NGC 4010 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBcd in the constellation Great Bear. It is estimated to be 43 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter. Together with NGC 4001 it forms the optical galaxy pair Holm 314 and it is considered a member of the NGC 3992 group ( LGG 258 )
The object was discovered on April 26, 1830 by John Herschel .
