NGC 4015 is an interacting pair of galaxies in the constellation Haar der Berenike , which is approximately 194 million light years from the Milky Way .
Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of elliptical galaxies with emanating material (Arp catalog) .
The galaxy was discovered on April 26, 1878 by the astronomer Johann Dreyer .
