NGC 4018 is a spiral radio galaxy of the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 199 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light-years across. Together with four other galaxies, it is considered a member of the NGC 3987 group ( LGG 261 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4000 , NGC 4005 , NGC 4011 , NGC 4022 .
The object was discovered by Johan Dreyer on April 26, 1878 .
