NGC 4030 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Virgo, about 1 ° south of the autumn point . It is estimated to be 60 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 753 and IC 754 .

On February 19, 2007, SN 2007aa , a type IIP supernova , was observed here.
