NGC 4019 = IC 755 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Haar der Berenike in the northern sky . It is an estimated 65 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years in diameter. Together with 95 other galaxies, it forms the NGC 4486 group ( LGG 289 ).
The galaxies NGC 3996 and NGC 4037 are located in the same area of the sky .

The type II supernova SN 1999an was observed here.

The object was discovered in 1832 by astronomer John Herschel using an 18.7-inch telescope. The entry in the Index Catalog refers to an observation of presumably the same galaxy by Lewis Swift .
