NGC 4293 is a lens-shaped galaxy with an active galaxy core of the Hubble type SB0 / a and lies in the constellation Haar der Berenike. The galaxy is an estimated 38 million light years away from the Milky Way and is roughly 70,000 light years across . She is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 460 .
The galaxy IC 3292 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by William Herschel on March 14, 1784 .
