NGC 526B is a lenticular galaxy in the Sculptor constellation about 255 million light years from the Milky Way . Nearby is another galaxy that has been assigned the number NGC 526A .

The object was discovered on September 1, 1834 by the British astronomer John Frederick William Herschel .
