NGC 515 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 234 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 517 , NGC 528 , IC 1691 , IC 1692 .
The object was discovered on September 13, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
