NGC 525 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 99 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light-years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 516 , NGC 524 , IC 101 , IC 102 .
The object was discovered on September 25, 1862 by the German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Ludwig d'Arrest .
