NGC 518 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type Sa in the constellation fish on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 126 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 509 , NGC 516 , NGC 524 , NGC 532 .
The object was discovered on December 17, 1864 by the German astronomer Albert Marth .
