NGC 514 is a bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 115 million light years from the Milky Way and about 125,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on October 16, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
