Pobedino ( Russian Победино , German  Schillehnen , 1938 to 1945 Schillfelde , also: Inglauden , 1938 to 1945 Inglau , and: Strunzlaugken , 1938 to 1945 Strunzhof , Lithuanian Šilėnai , also: Ingliaudai and: Strunclaukis ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It consists of three originally independent places and belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Krasnosnamensk district . The Strunzlaugken / Strunzhof branch has been abandoned.

Geographical location

Pobedino is located 19 kilometers northeast of the former district town of Dobrowolsk (Pillkallen / Schloßberg) and 16 kilometers southeast of today's capital Krasnosnamensk (Lasdehnen / Haselberg) on the regional road 27A-026 (ex R511 ). In town, two land routes branch off towards the Russian-Lithuanian state border, which lead to the abandoned localities of Eydgimmischken (1938 to 1945: Hochfelde, Russian: Kowpakowo) and Wisborienen (1938 to 1945: Grenzhöhe, Russian: Liwny). Until 1945 Schillehnen (Schillfelde) was a train station on the Kiauschen – Doristhal railway line of the Pillkaller Kleinbahn , which is no longer operated today.

history

Schillehnen / Schillfelde

In 1660 the village of Skaißgirren was mentioned for the first time. Before 1945, the village included two churches and the train station, a dairy and a sawmill . On April 8, 1874, Schillehnen became a district village and thus gave its name to a newly established district . In 1939 it was renamed "District Schillfelde", until 1945 it belonged to the Pillkallen district (1939 to 1945 "Landkreis Schloßberg (Ostpr.)") In the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

635 inhabitants were registered in Schillehnen in 1910. On September 30, 1928, the Strunzlaugken manor district and the communities of Heidlaugken (1938 to 1946: Holländerei, no longer existent) and Schillehnen merged to form the new rural community of Schillehnen. The population increased to 1933 to 884, totaling 1,939 already on 899. In the wake of the Nazi Eindeutschungspolitik Schillehnen was on June 3 - officially confirmed on 16 July - the year 1938 in "Schill field" renamed . As a result of the war, the village came to the Soviet Union together with the whole of northern East Prussia in 1945 .

District of Schillehnen / Schillfelde (1874–1945)

Between 1874 and 1945 the district of Schillehnen existed, which was renamed in 1939 to "District of Schillfelde". At the beginning there were seven and at the end five congregations:

Inglauden / Inglau

The village of Inglauden was also first mentioned in 1660. Before 1945 the place consisted of a few large and small farms. Between 1874 and 1945 Inglauden was incorporated into the district of Schillehnen (1939 to 1945: "District of Schillfelde") and thus belonged to the district of Pillkallen (1939 to 1945 "Landkreis Schloßberg (Ostpr.)") In the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia . The population was: 135 in 1910, 122 in 1933 and 140 in 1939. On June 3, 1938 Inglauden was given the changed name "Inglau". In 1945 this place was also added to the Soviet Union .

Strunzlaugken / Strunzhof

The smallest of the three districts of today's settlement Pobedino was founded in 1778. From 1874 Strunzlaugken was incorporated into the district of Schillehnen (Schillfelde) and was thus part of the district of Pillkallen (Schloßberg) in the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia . Inglaugken was an estate village that in 1910 had 40 inhabitants. On September 30, 1928, Strunzlaugken merged with the neighboring towns of Heidlaugken (Holländerei, no longer existent) and Schillehnen to form the new rural community , whereby it lost its independence. On June 3, 1938, Strunzlaugken was given the changed place name "Strunzhof" and then in 1945, like all places in northern East Prussia, came to the Soviet Union .

Pobedino

In 1947 Schillehnen after the Russian word was Pobeda for victory in Pobedino renamed and also the headquarters of a village Soviets in Krasnoznamensky District . In the local directory of the Kaliningrad Oblast from 1976, the former German towns of Inglauden / Inglau and Strunzlaugken / Strunzhof are also included in Pobedino. The Strunzlaugken / Strunzhof branch has now been abandoned. From 2008 to 2015 Pobedino belonged to the rural municipality Dobrowolskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Krasnosnamensk.

Pobedinski selski Sowet / okrug 1947–2008

The village soviet Pobedinski selski Sowet (ru. Побединский сельский Совет) was established in June 1947. In 1959 the Michurinski selski Sowet was (essentially) connected to the Pobedinski selski Sowet. After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the administrative unit existed as the village district Pobedinski selski okrug (ru. Побединский сельский округ). In 2008 the remaining places in the village district were incorporated into the newly formed rural municipality Dobrowolskoje selskoje posselenije .

Evangelical

Church building

The Schillehner Evangelical Church was built between 1794 and 1796. It was a homely half - timbered church with a tiled roof and wooden tower, which had to be partially demolished after a lightning strike in 1825. The church had a simple interior with a pulpit altar . The building did not survive the Second World War . His local office can no longer be found.

Parish

Schillehnen became a Protestant church village in 1793 . A parish comprising more than 30 places - including Inglauden and Strunzlaugken - was assigned to him. The pastor's office, established in 1795, was occupied continuously until 1945. In 1925 the parish of Schillehnen had 3,300 parish members. Until 1945 it was incorporated into the church district Pillkallen (Schloßberg) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today, Babuschkino (Groß Degesen) is the closest Evangelical Lutheran congregation to Pobedino and its districts . It belongs to the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .

Catholic

The numerically few Catholic church members of Schillehnen and the surrounding area once belonged to the parish in Tilsit (today Russian: Sowetsk), then between 1874 and 1930 to the parish of Bilderweitschen (1938 to 1946: Bilderweit, today Russian: Lugowoje). In 1930 a Catholic parish was established in Schillehnen, after the place had received a Catholic church in 1925, which was consecrated to St. Michael the Archangel . Until 1945, the parish of Schillehnen (Schillfelde) with its about 600 parishioners belonged to the Tilsit deanery in the diocese of Warmia of the Catholic Church . The church building survived the war and is now used by others. So the Memel city of Sowetsk is again the closest Catholic parish for Pobedino.
