Sergei Leonidowitsch Roschkov

Sergei Leonidowitsch Roschkow ( Russian Сергей Леонидович Рожков , scientific transliteration Sergej Leonidovič Rožkov ; born April 1, 1972 in Murmansk , Russia ) is a former Russian biathlete .

Life

Sergei Roschkov started biathlon in 1986. With the Russian relay he was able to win some medals at world championships. In the individual he got fourth place in 1997 and 2001 at the World Championships, 2003 in the pursuit. Sergei Roschkow achieved four World Cup victories in his career. The athlete, very popular with journalists and fans, has been the team spokesman for the Russian national biathlon team since 2006. After the Russian championship in 2009, which was disappointing for him, Roshkov announced his resignation. In August 2009 he took over the position of manager in the Russian junior team.

Roshkov is married, has two children and lives with his family in Moscow.
