The tour of the Sri Lankan national cricket team to South Africa in the season 1997/98 took place from 19 to 30 March 1998. The international cricket tour was part of the 1997/98 international cricket season and included two tests . South Africa won the Test Series 2–0.

South Africa previously played a tour against Pakistan , Sri Lanka a tour against Zimbabwe . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1994/95 season in South Africa .
