Voskressenskoje ( Russian Воскресе́нское ) is an urban-type settlement in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast in Russia with 6185 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is a good 100 km as the crow flies northeast of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Administrative Center on the right bank of the Wetluga .
Woskressenskoje is the administrative center of the Rajons Voskresensky . It is the seat of the municipality (gorodskoje posselenije) Rabotchi possjolok Woskressenskoje, among which also the settlements Kalinicha (2 km south) and Possjolok imeni Michejewa (6 km south-east on the left Vetluga-shore), and the rural community Kapustichinski selsowet eleven surrounding villages, but to which the settlement itself does not belong.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1614 as the village of Ilyinskoye . From the end of the 18th century, the place belonged to the Ujesd Makarjew of the Nizhny Novgorod Governorate as the seat of a Volost - already under its current name after the local Church of the Resurrection (from Russian Voskressenije for " (Christ) Resurrection ") .
In 1929 Voskressenskoje became the administrative seat of a newly created Rajons named after him. Since 1961 the place has had the status of an urban-type settlement.

Regional road 22K-0018 runs through Voskressenskoye and branches off almost 30 km west of 22R-0159 Nizhny Novgorod - Shakhunya - Kirov Oblast (in the direction of Yaransk ) and follows the right bank of the Vetluga from the settlement down to the border of the Republic of Mari El , there continue towards Jurino on the left bank of the Volga . The 22K-0019 branches off in a northerly direction, crosses the Wetluga above Voskressenskoje and also leads to the 22R-0159 not far from the neighboring district center of Krasnye Baki to the north . Via this, the closest train station Wetluschskaja can be reached at the Wetluschski settlement a good 40 km north on the Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod - Kotelnitsch route.
