Welschnofen (Nova Levante) (Italian: Nova Levante; German: Welschnofen; Archaic (1307): Nova; the word Welsch in German refers to Roman/Italic) is a comune (municipality) in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 50 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 15 km southeast of the city of Bolzano. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,875 and an area of 50.8 km².[3]

Welschnofen (Nova Levante) borders the following municipalities: Karneid (Cornedo all'Isarco), Moena, Deutschnofen (Nova Ponente), Pozza di Fassa, Predazzo, Tiers (Tires), and Vigo di Fassa.
