Adam Derek Scott (born July 16, 1980 in Adelaide , Australia ) is an Australian professional golfer . In 2005 he was the youngest player in the top 10 of the golf world rankings .
Career
In his first full season on the European Tour 2001, Scott won his first tournament, and more victories followed in the next few years. Scott was equally successful on the North American PGA TOUR and already won four titles in the first three seasons, 2003 to 2005. Since 2006 he has played almost exclusively on the PGA Tour. In November 2006 Scott achieved his greatest success to date, when he won the TOUR Championship , the highly endowed , exclusive final tournament of the PGA Tour. In February 2008 Scott won the Qatar Masters for the second time and set a new course record and a personal best with his final round of 61 strokes (11 under par).
Scott represented his home country in the WGC World Cup in 2002 and was on the International Team in the Presidents Cup in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013.
His good looks and his Aussie charm have contributed to his popularity in the tournament scene and Scott is a coveted "object" of all organizers not only because of his skill level. He is also increasingly viewed as the successor to Australian golf legend Greg Norman . Even more so when Scott hired Norman's former caddy Tony Navarro in 2004 . Steve Williams, Tiger Woods ' long-time caddy, has been wearing Scott's golf bag since July 2011 .
By far the greatest success of his career he celebrated with victory at the Masters 2013 and second place in the world rankings. In November of the same year Scott won the ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf on Team Australia with Jason Day .
After a long injury break from Tiger Woods, Adam Scott took the lead in the world rankings in May 2014 . His biggest success so far in the 2014 season was a win at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial , and at the end of 2013 he also won the Australian PGA Championship and the Talisker Masters , which are part of the PGA Tour of Australasia .
