Airtours International ( Airtours publicly ) was a British charter airline based in Manchester . The company was renamed MyTravel Airways (UK) in 2002 and merged with the British Thomas Cook Airlines in 2008 .

Airtours International

The airline Airtours International was founded on October 10, 1990 in Manchester as a subsidiary of the tour operator Airtours Holding . Operations began on March 20, 1991 with a flight from Manchester to Rhodes . The company initially deployed five leased McDonnell Douglas MD-83s .

In September 1993, the fleet was supplemented with the first Airbus A320 , and a month later the first two Boeing 757s came into operation. Back in July 1993, had Airtours holding the in Cardiff -based tour operator Aspro Holidays adopted its subsidiary Inter European Airways fully in the on 31 October 1993 Airtours International opened.
