The district of Cēsis (Cēsu novads) is located in northern Latvia in the historical Vidzeme region .

geography

The western border of the district around the city of Cēsis is formed by the Gauja . The Pleskauer Chaussee runs in the southeast . The Riga - Valka railway line also crosses the district.

population

The district consists of the municipality (pagasts) Vaive and the administrative center Cēsis . 19671 inhabitants (2010) live in the Cēsis district.
