Clark County is a county in the state of Idaho in the United States . The county seat is Dubois .

The county is located in eastern Idaho, borders Montana to the north and has an area of 4572 square kilometers, of which two square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Lemhi County , Butte County , Jefferson County, and Fremont County .
history
Clark County was formed on February 1, 1919 from parts of Fremont County. It was named after Sam K. Clark , an early settler in the area.
Clark County has a National Historic Landmark , the Camas Meadows Battle Sites . Three other structures and sites are on the National Register of Historic Places .

As of the 2000 census , Clark County had 1,022 people in 340 households and 257 families. The population density was 1 person per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 74.2 percent white, 0.1 percent African American, 1.0 percent Native American, 0.2 percent Asian, 0.1 percent from the Pacific island area and 23.5 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 1.0 percent are descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 34.3 percent of the population.
Of the 340 households, 45.0 percent had children under the age of 18 living with them. 61.8 percent of them were married couples living together. 7.1 percent were single mothers and 24.4 percent were non-families. 20.0 percent were single households and 8.5 percent had people 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.01 and the average family size was 3.52 people.
35.2 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 8.0 percent between 18 and 24 years, 27.5 percent between 25 and 44 years, 20.1 percent between 45 and 64 years. 9.2 percent were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 110.7 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 112.2 men.
The median household income was 31,576 USD , and the median income for a family 31,534 USD. Males had a median income of $ 23,854 versus $ 20,192 for females. The per capita income was $ 11,141. 18.7 percent of families and 19.9 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
