This is great! (own spelling: That's GREAT! ) is a German game show produced by Riverside Entertainment GmbH in the Berlin Adlershof studio . The first issue was broadcast on September 16, 2013. The show is moderated by Kai Pflaume . The show is not broadcast live, but recorded live on tape beforehand . It is the new edition of the former ZDF - show Dalli Dalli that from 1971 to 1986 by Hans Rosenthal was presented. The program ran with a similar concept from 2011 to 2013 on NDR . With the change to Das Erste , the name of the show was changed from “Dalli Dalli” to “That's great!”, Whereby the show continues to speak of Dalli Dalli. In 2015, the ARD announced that no further episodes are planned for the time being.
team
Like the new edition 2011 to 2013 on NDR television , the show is moderated by Kai Pflaume. It was also chosen at the request of the family of the late inventor Hans Rosenthal. A jury stands by Pflaume's side, which adds up the points and checks whether the points were earned in accordance with the rules. It consists of Tagesschau head spokesman Jan Hofer and Debora Rosenthal , the granddaughter of Hans Rosenthal.
concept
In each show, eight prominent candidates compete against each other in four teams of two. In the first two rounds, two teams play against each other, in the final that follows, the two winning teams compete against each other. Each round begins with a quick guessing round in which the two candidates take turns giving answers to a situation presented by Kai Pflaume within a minute. The team receives one point for each answer that matches the task. This is followed by four action rounds, which, in addition to recurring elements that were already included in the original variant with Hans Rosenthal, such as the action rounds “Dalli scale” and “Dalli questionnaire” or the guessing game “Dalli click”, in which pictures are guessed must also include action games newly developed from show to show. After the first two rounds, the respective winning teams compete against each other in the final , which is also similar to the structure of the first two rounds. However, there is a final game here. One candidate of the team acts as a human clock in that he has to cope with a certain task for as long as possible, while the other candidate answers as many quiz questions as possible during this time. Each round begins with the start signal "Dalli Dalli" announced by presenter Kai Pflaume, which was retained despite the changed title of the program.
"That was great!"
After each game, the audience in the studio has the opportunity to acknowledge a particular performance by candidates at the push of a button. This activates an alarm signal, whereupon Pflaume always shouts: "You think that was ..." The audience shouts "Great!" And there is a special point. Kai Pflaume leaps into the air for “Top!”, Whereby the picture is frozen for a brief moment.
Good purpose
At the end of the program, Debora Rosenthal adds up all the points earned by the teams and equates them with euros . The money earned will then be donated to the Hans Rosenthal Foundation , which supports families in need through no fault of their own. Kai Pflaume explains in each program which family the money is specifically donated to.
