About this picture

The Lohr deanery is one of 20 deaneries in the Roman Catholic diocese of Würzburg .

In 1821 the Lohr deanery consisted of the parishes of Ernstkirchen , Esselbach , Frammersbach , Heimbuchenthal , Keilberg, Krombach , Lohr, Oberbessenbach, Rechtenbach (officially parish from 1829), Rothenbuch , Sailauf , Weibersbrunn, Wiesthal and Wintersbach. In 1827 Ernstkirchen and Krombach were given to the dean's office in Alzenau , and in 1845, Esselbach to the dean's office in Rothenfels.

The Lohr dean's office today includes the old districts of Lohr am Main and Marktheidenfeld , today in the district of Main-Spessart . It borders in the east on the Deanery Karlstadt , in the southeast on the Deanery Würzburg on the left of the Main , in the southwest on the Archbishopric Freiburg , in the west / southwest on the Deanery Miltenberg , in the west on the Deanery Aschaffenburg-Ost and in the north on the Diocese of Fulda .

Twenty-seven parishes and eleven curatia have formed nine parish communities by 2010. The parish of St. Andreas Wiesthal with the branch Herz-Jesu Krommenthal and the curate of St. Josef the Bridegroom Neuhütten left the Hochspessart parish community in the Aschaffenburg-Ost deanery on March 14, 2012 and are now temporarily independent in the Lohr deanery.

The dean is Hermann Becker, the coordinating pastor of the parish community of St. Laurentius am Spessart , Marktheidenfeld. His deputy Alexander Eckert, coordinating pastor of the parish community Heilig Geist im Spessartgrund , Esselbach.
