German Media Prize

The German Media Prize is a prize from the German advertising and communications industry . The prize is particularly intended to promote creative media planning and to make successful campaign examples known to a specialist audience.

The price

The award was first presented in 1999 by the trade journal media & marketing (founded in 1996), which was renamed w & v media in 2009 and merged with Werben & Sell in 2010 . The submitted campaigns are awarded by a jury made up of representatives from agencies , marketers and advertisers . The categories and number of prizes have varied several times over the past few years. The trophy, a colorful acrylic ball, was designed by the sculptor and artist Karl-Heinz Einberger.

As part of the event, which took place in the Old Town Hall in Munich until 2017 and switched to the Münchner Kammerspiele in 2018 , the "Media Personality of the Year" is also honored every year. In 2000 the “Media Youngsters” competition was also established.

Christian Ude was the longstanding patron of the event . The German Media Prize is moderated by Wolfram Kons .
