Dogan Gureş

Doğan Güreş (born February 15, 1926 in Adana ; † October 13, 2014 in Ankara ) was a Turkish general who was last chief of the general staff (Genelkurmay Başkanı) of the Turkish armed forces (Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri) from 1990 to 1994 .

Life

After visiting the Kuleli cadet school , Güreş entered the military school ( Harp Okulu ) in 1945 , which he graduated from in 1947 as a lieutenant in the transport force. Then he attended the military transport school (Ulaştırma Sınıf Okulu) and was after its completion from 1949 to 1963 platoon leader and company commander in various military units.
