In the individual, Lindsay Davenport won against Jelena Janković 6: 4, 3: 6 and 6: 4. In doubles, the pairing Virginia Ruano Pascual / Paola Suárez won 6: 7 7 , 6: 2 and 6: 1 against Swetlana Kuznetsova / Alicia Molik .
