The 2005 Bank of the West Classic was a WTA hard court tennis tournament for women in Stanford . It was part of the 2005 WTA Tour as a Tier II category tournament . The tournament took place from July 23 to 31, 2005.

In the singles, Kim Clijsters won against Venus Williams 7: 5 and 6: 2. In doubles, the pairing Cara Black / Rennae Stubbs won 6: 3 and 7: 5 against Jelena Lichowzewa / Wera Swonarjowa .

qualification

The qualification for the Bank of the West Classic 2005 took place from July 23-25, 2005. Four qualifying places for the singles and one qualification place for the doubles were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
