The earth television network GmbH operates a network of remote-controlled cameras that impressions from the current record over 70 locations worldwide. The company primarily supplies television broadcasters , but also airports and hotels with the program " The World Live ". In mostly 90-second films, the current weather data are displayed along with live images from well-known locations and music tracks are played. The majority of the cameras are connected to the broadcasting center in Munich via fast Internet connections. This means that some cameras are only live indirectly, as the film sequences are sent as a file. On the websiteIn addition, there are compilations of particularly atmospheric recordings such as at night or at sunsets in other films. While some television stations broadcast the program in full at certain times, it is also occasionally used as a break filler.

In June 2012 earthTV was taken over by the film producers Nikolaus and Claudius Lohmann from Telcast Media Group via their Berlin company Stereo 3D Experts GmbH & Co. KG.

EarthTV was founded in 1998 by Thomas M. Hohenacker as the “largest TV production studio in the world” and after 4 years of intensive R&D was able to start broadcasting on the German news channel n-tv.

earthTV is broadcast by television channels in over 200 countries, including BBC World , France 2 , TVE  (Spain), The Weather Channel  (USA) and SBS in Australia. Usually it is broadcast for about 90 seconds. According to the company, the program reaches over 2 billion viewers in 200 countries and has become the most successful daily program in Europe.
