The great silence is a German television film by Maris Pfeiffer from 2003. It is the 26th episode of the crime series A strong team with Maja Maranow and Florian Martens in the leading roles.

action

After a police officer and the key witness, who is supposed to testify against an Albanian girl trafficker, were murdered, Chief Detective Otto Garber and his colleague Verena Berthold were entrusted with the case. You suspect a leak in the police apparatus. The department that was entrusted with personal protection is checked accordingly. First of all, everything speaks against the dead colleague Scheffer, who may have been eliminated by the perpetrator as an uncomfortable confidante. Unexpectedly, Verena finds a possible witness. Luise was friends with the key witness and fled the house when the shooting took place. While on the run, she ran into a car and is now in the hospital, but can neither remember her name nor what happened.

Reddemann is hoping for clues about the human trafficking ring from the Albanian Hakim, a well-known pimp who is currently in custody. So he smuggles Aschenbach, who works for Georg Scholz as a representative in Reddemann's team, undercover in Moabit in order to get information. As soon as he had earned the man's trust, he was suddenly poisoned. But even without Hakim's help, the investigators manage to find a lead via "Limosinen-Fink" to the girls' dealer ring. He not only rents cars, but also women. Although he also accuses the police officer Scheffer as an alleged informant, Victor Kreutzer, an internal colleague of Scheffer, turns out to be the traitor. After Luise can gradually remember and meet Kreutzer by chance, she clearly recognizes him as the man who shot her friend. After trying in vain to kill Luise, he is shot himself by members of the Albanian mafia.
