Elke Winkens (born March 25, 1970 in Linnich ) is an Austrian - German actress .

Life

Elke Winkens was born as the daughter of a Dutch dancer and a German engineer. The family lived in Ratheim , a district of Hückelhoven . Since her father was responsible for building weaving machines in developing countries , she spent part of her childhood in the Netherlands , Belgium and Africa .

At the age of six she took ballet lessons , and when she was nine she was on stage for the first time. From then on, she had many performances in dance and theater productions including as Tanzmariechen the KG Roathemer Wenk . When she was 18, she received a scholarship to the London Studio Center School in London , which she attended from 1989 to 1991. She then moved to Vienna and attended the Musical School at the Theater an der Wien to study singing, dance and acting. In 1994 she finished her training with a state degree.

Winkens was discovered for television through her appearances with the cabaret group Die Hectiker . She got her first roles in the TV magazines Zell-O-Fun ( SWR ; 1996–1997) and One ( ORF ; 1998). Winkens made her cinema debut in 1998 in a leading role in Helden in Tirol . Her breakthrough in Germany only started in 2002 with the crime series Kommissar Rex , in which she played the leading female role of Niki Herzog .

Winkens “posed” in 2003 for the cover of the men's magazine Playboy , (“At that time I did it with full conviction. I haven't regretted it, but I wouldn't do it again.” Quoted from WIENER Online, August 2011.) and 2007 for the cover of the weekly magazine WIENER . In 2008 Elke Winkens took part in the fourth season of the ORF dance show Dancing Stars . With her partner Andy Kainz she reached the eighth and penultimate round. In 2009 she hosted the Vienna Opera Ball for live broadcast in February and the 17th Life Ball in May  .

In 2013 she was seen with her cabaret program Alles Liege as part of the Hyundai Cabaret Days on ORF.

From episode 2856 (first broadcast: January 30, 2018) to episode 3106 (first broadcast: March 14, 2019) she played the scheming Xenia Saalfeld in the ARD telenovela Sturm der Liebe in the role of the antagonist of the 14th and 15th seasons until she the serial death died.

Private

On October 25, 2011 she married the Viennese entrepreneur Christian Fischer. The marriage was divorced in March 2014.

She was in a relationship with Viktor Gernot for a few years . Winkens has a twin brother.
