The Schleswig-Holstein Association League was held for the 38th time in the 1984/85 season and formed the substructure of the third-class Oberliga Nord. The two first-placed teams were allowed to take part in the promotion round to the Oberliga Nord. The teams in the last two places had to relegate to the national league.

Compared to the 1983/84 season , the composition of the league changed as follows: No team was promoted to Oberliga Nord, while no team from Schleswig-Holstein was relegated from Oberliga Nord. The two relegated members had left the association league and were replaced by the two promoted FC Kilia Kiel ( promotion after 18 years) and TSV Pansdorf (for the first time in the highest amateur league in Schleswig-Holstein).

Season course

Itzehoer SV secured the championship and participation in the promotion round. Eutin 08 was also allowed to take part in second place. Both ended their groups on one of the last two places and had to give way to Wolfenbütteler SV and the amateur team from Eintracht Braunschweig . TSV Pansdorf had to leave the association league after one season, Schleswig 06 after nine seasons.
