Mairie Gajan

Gajan is a municipality in the French Pyrenees and in the Ariège department in Occitania . It belongs to the canton of Portes du Couserans in the arrondissement of Saint-Girons . It borders Barjac to the north, Lasserre and Montardit to the northeast, Montjoie-en-Couserans to the east, Saint-Lizier to the south, Lorp-Sentaraille to the southwest and Taurignan-Vieux to the west . The residents call themselves Gajanais. In addition to the main settlement, Gajan also includes the hamlet of Chaumarti at 541 meters above sea level.
