history

Glassblowers came to the community in the late Middle Ages. They also built granaries as a sideline. Like all communities in the region, Fabas suffered destruction in the wars of religion. In the Middle Ages, the place was within the province of Volvestre, which in turn was part of the province of Languedoc. The parish was part of the Saint-Girons district from 1793 to 1801. In addition, Fabas was within the canton of Sainte-Croix-Volvestre from 1793 to 2015 . The parish has been assigned to the Arrondissement of Saint-Girons since 1801.
