history

In the Middle Ages, the place was within the province of Couserans, which in turn was part of the province of Gascony. In 1562 and 1563 there were three arrests for (alleged) witchcraft. The parish was part of the Saint-Girons district from 1793 to 1801. In addition, Prat-Bonrepaux was within the canton of Saint-Lizier from 1793 to 2015 . The parish has been assigned to the Arrondissement of Saint-Girons since 1801. The municipality has existed in its current size since the union of Bonrepaux and Prat between 1790 and 1794. It has had its current name since April 13, 1983. Before it was called Prat et Bonrepaux.
