Cadarcet is a French commune with 224 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region (until 2015: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Girons , to the canton of Couserans Est (until 2015: canton of La Bastide-de-Sérou ) and to the community association of Couserans-Pyrénées founded in 2016 . The residents call themselves Cadarcetois .

geography

Cadarcet is located about ten kilometers northwest of Foix in the Pyrénées Ariégeoises Regional Nature Park . Cadarcet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aigues-Juntes in the north and north-west, Baulou in the north and east, Saint-Martin-de-Caralp in the east and south-east, Serres-sur-Arget in the south, Alzen in the south-west, Montels in the west and La Bastide -de-Sérou to the west and north-west.
