Hündekausen is located on the slopes of the Bergisches Land south of Drabenderhöhe . Neighboring towns are Oberbech in the east, Oberbonrath in the south, Wellerscheid in the west and Oberbusch in the northwest. The Haubach rises south of Hündekausen .

In 1901 the village had 121 inhabitants. The heads of the household were Joh.Behr, Peter Behr, HJ Bergbach, Joh.Peter Bergbach, Wilhelm Büscher, Anna M. Heimami, Joh.Peter Heimami, Carl Josef Kaltenbach, Peter Kaltenbach, Peter Knipp, widow Heinrich Krämer, Heinrich J. Schneider, Joh Steinbach and Anton Tillmann. With the exception of the bricklayer Peter Behr, all farm workers were by profession.
