Eigen lies on the slopes of the Bergisches Land . Neighboring places are Hetzenholz in the east, Weißenportz in the south and threshold brook in the northwest. The place can be reached via the state road 318.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1559. In 1820 Eigen had 25 residents. In 1901 the hamlet had 28 inhabitants. Here lived the families Ackerer Joh. Engelbertz, Ackerin Anna Maria Fielenbach, Ackerer Peter Josef Fielenbach, Stellmacher Joh. Heuser, Ackerer Daniel Krumm and Peter Ackerin widow Egbert Stockhausen.

During the Second World War , an airplane crashed at Eigen.
